Dr. Rob Gauvreau

MD, CASEM Dip. Sport Med.

Dr. Gauvreau has been practicing Sport Medicine for over 35 years, in the Ottawa area. He has served as the Head Team physician for the Ottawa 67’s for the past 15 years and has also been a team physician for the CFL Ottawa Red Blacks, Ottawa Lynx, various minor hockey & soccer teams and University Varsity Teams in the Ottawa region. He currently serves as alternate team physician for the NHL Ottawa Senators.

Dr. Gauvreau has hospital privileges at the Ottawa Hospital and Kemptville Hospital, in the Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa, in the Dept. of Family Medicine, and continues to teach Sport Medicine to Family Practice residents.

His Focused Practice in Sport & Exercise Medicine specializes in the care of muscle and skeletal injuries and conditions, that affect the active person. Dr. Gauvreau also focuses on leading edge regenerative medicine solutions. i.e. platelet rich plasma, viscosupplementation with hyaluronic acid, US guided injection procedures etc., for the treatment of muscle, skeletal & joint conditions.

Dr. David White

BSc, MSc, MD, CCFP, Fellowship in Sport Medicine

Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr White attended the University of Ottawa and received a BSc in Human Kinetics and an MSc in Neurosciences. He then attended the University of Toronto to complete his undergraduate medical education before returning home to complete his residency in Family Medicine in 2014.  This was followed by a fellowship in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Ottawa, which he completed in 2015.

Dr White has already worked on the medical teams for major international competitions including the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2015 Pan American Games. Locally he has worked with the Varsity programs at Ottawa and Carleton University and is currently a team physician for the Ottawa 67’s. Dr White has played several competitive sports including hockey and baseball. He has completed over 15 triathlons and currently enjoys skiing, golfing and running. He currently practices Family Medicine as part of the Nepean Family Health Organization and Sports Medicine at Optimize Physiotherapy & Sport Medicine.


Nick St Louis

BSc (HBio), MPT

An Ottawa Native, Nick attended University of Ottawa to obtain his BSc in Biology and then his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. After graduating from Western, Nick completed a specialized fellowship program in Sports Physiotherapy working for the London Knights OHL hockey team as the team physiotherapist and trainer and at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic. After a stint working for Western University as the physiotherapist for varsity athletics, Nick returned to Ottawa to cofound Optimize. A passion for movement, mobility and strength training forms the foundation of his treatment approach.

Mike Gauvreau

BSc (HBio), MPT

Mike grew up in the Ottawa area, and completed an honours BSc in Biology at the University of Ottawa in 2010.  He then went on to graduate with a Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University in 2013. He has an extensive background in competitive hockey and soccer, and currently has a passion for strength training and human movement. His style of treatment incorporates best practices from physical therapy and a variety of other movement and strength disciplines. In addition to his manual therapy skills, his treatment emphasizes movement re-education, functional strengthening, and attaining better overall health and fitness.


Chuck Weeks

Chuck Weeks is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, CPed(C). After graduating from the University of Ottawa in 1978 with a BSc. In Kinesiology Chuck obtained his Canadian Certified Athletic Therapist’s CAT(C) designation, held positions as Head Athletic Therapist at the U of O, AT with the Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic, and Medical Director for the NCM prior to founding CWG. Chuck is a past Director and past President of the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC).
